[He's walking inside, looking around curiously, holding several boxes of desserts. The boxes are all black and have stuff like bats or webs or such things on it.]

[He will set down the box and pulls out the first book.]

Okay, so this is the tiramisu. I figure he will PROBABLY like that, but I don't know what is good coffee stuff.

I've been forbidden from drinking coffee.

[For obvious reasons.]

[Its shaped into a coffin.]

[She directs him to the living room, to put the boxes on the coffee table.]

Oh, that's cute! -That's probably not going to be his first reaction to it, don't worry.

[She picks one up and munches on it.]

This is pretty good.

Probably not. I dunno if he knows what goth is. But if I'm not teasing him a little bit, what's even the point?

[It might get him to sass him, Eva.]

[He HAS to do it.]

[He loves Shadow sass.]

It is? Good! So they can cook at least some good stuff. And they don't use activated charcoal for most of their black stuff, which is good. Mom's gone on rants about it messing with meds, which isn't really a problem, but if it messes with meds, it probably messes with other stuff even if its technically safe.

[He opens another box and pulls out some gingerbread skeletons.] I thought spiced cookies might also work out.

Oh, yeah, you don't want to mess around with that, especially working with a biology that's not the expected one.

[Taking a skeleton to try.] I've never been a huge fan of gingerbread, personally, but this is good quality gingerbread.

That too. I cannot tell you how much cataloging of food there was when I first moved in with them. She was very concerned the first time I ate onions. Apparently onions are just bad for a ton of animals.

They're better fresh. When they get all stale, they're just really hard. [Munching one himself.] Oh! Do you have tea? We should have tea. I didn't think of that.

I don't actually, I'm more of a coffee person. I do have soda? That's probably not close enough...

Oh! Coffee would be good. [He hops off his seat.] Not for me, for you. Since I wanna see if Shadow likes coffee too, so we should test with coffee. I can take a soda.

Alright, I'll put some coffee on. It'll take a minute though.

[She shows him to the kitchen, where the fridge is stocked with cans of various sodas - your cola, your lemon-lime, all that stuff. She goes to start coffee for herself.]

[He follows along, taking a look around. He considers the drinks and goes for the lemon-lime. Caffeine low.]

[He has a Plan and being more antsy than normal won't help.]

How do you read them all? Like I have a ton of comics, but I can also read fast. This many books would take forever.

[Though that could also be the focus issues. Comics need less intense focus.]

I read a little before bed every night. Helps me fall asleep.

Any preferred genres? You strike me as an appreciator of superheroes, but what about fantasy, sci-fi?

Superheroes yes. Fantasy yes.

Sci-fi I'm particular on.

Growing up as the unknown alien makes some sci fi stories just a liiiiiittle to close to a potential reality.

Understandable! I will stick to superheroes and fantasy.
