Even in a nice world, there are probably still going to be some jobs people don't like but someone has to do anyway, right? Like, I don't know anybody who's emotionally fulfilled by working at a fast food place.

That's true, but I don't know how good it could get even if customers weren't rude and your manager wasn't a dick.

Probably not. Even if the pay and conditions are okay, it doesn't sound all that fulfilling to me.
