[ On the Solstice, a package appears on Evangeline's doorstep. Within is a Utility Belt (purchased from Better, Stronger, Cheaper) that contains everything one might need for NSFW shenanigans. There is a wide variety of items, some of which definitely aren't designed for human anatomy. (Every new item placed on the belt turns into yet another NSFW item.)
The package also contains a handmade metal snakelike bracelet that winds around half the forearm, but is flexible enough to cover more or less as desired.
A note accompanies the package, written in Reiner's neat script. ]
Evangeline,
The utility belt looked like it would be helpful for you and your partners.
I didn't know what enchantment you'd like on the bracelet, so it doesn't have anything right now. If you let me know what you'd like, I'll fix it up for you.
This is SUPER useful, thank you. I promise never to tell you anything I do with it.
I don't actually know what kinds of enchantments are options! I've mostly been using weapons and gear from my home that are already powered. The bracelet is super pretty as is though.
[Evangeline gets a monster manual from some tabletop game she doesn't play but that Rinku is pretty sure is her version of Playboy. Oh, and a seashell.]
Evangeline is getting some nice pastries from a local store and they're all shaped like different monsters. The note simply says "Happy Holidays. - Homura"
[Oh, sure, they live together, so it isn't too much of a hassle, but Evangeline's going to find a simple winter outfit waiting for her on her bed. And by it, a note:]
I wasn't sure what to give you, but I hope you like it.
I hope you're not allergic to anything. I tried to pick ingredients people usually aren't allergic to. They were very understanding at the bakery and even left an ingredients list under the box.
[A few hours after their anon chat on the network, Evangeline will get a call from a nervous little kid. One who was hugging a large, creepy-cute blue doll with red eyes and raggedy hair in her lap. The girl looked human, at least, unless you paid attention to the way the shadow of her arms fell across the desk- which looked more and more like a crayon's scribble the more anxious she got.]
Hello. This is Evangeline's number, isn't it?
It's fine if you're busy, I don't mind, I was going to go sleep soon anyway. It's nighttime but the city's still really bright with all those lights and it's not even like you can see the stars very well-
[...Mary was the sort of person who, when she got scared, got very chatty.]
[The gentle smile seemed to come as a surprise. It was warm, friendly- so different to the face Garry made when he confronted her after learning the truth, denouncing her as something not human, not real- and she wasn't sure how to react to it at first.
The opener was appreciated to get her footing back, though, a small smile coming into her face as she held the doll up to give Evangeline a better view.]
She's cute isn't she?? Three of them came with me, they were in the room that got given to me when I first came here, but I don't know why the others didn't come too. I think they'd like it here.
[So Rider had been taken by surprise by receiving Christmas Presents- that's right, it was that time of year, wasn't it? So come Boxing Day when the shops were back open, she spent the morning shopping for return gifts!
She'll go check the Research Centre to find Evangeline first, and if not, go to visit her at home- and drop off a package. Evangeline was...well, she spent a little while overthinking this one, before finding a rather interesting set of wall-hooks shaped like tentacles. After running a hand along them with an amused smile, Rider concluded that yes, this would probably fit her tastes.
Guess who got lost in the home section at the local department store.]
[Although Rider had been the one to suggest the prospect of finding some glasses that would block the power of her eyes, she was naturally a little wary about the whole prospect. But she trusted Evangeline, so that was enough to set her mind at ease. Had it been a stranger... it would have taken significantly longer for her to get comfortable with the idea of them examining her.
But as it was, after various tests and experiments, it seemed that they were in a good position! Rider had come over as soon as Evangeline contacted her, of course, to see what she'd come up with.]
[Evangeline, smiling brightly, places a pair of simple-looking glasses in Rider's hands.]
Just so you aren't worried, in the event that it doesn't work for some reason, there's a potion to reverse petrification in my desk. No harm done. But it worked perfectly in testing.
[A small, nervous smile came into her face as she felt the glasses being placed into her hands- and of course, Evangeline had already prepared a potion, just in case. That was most appreciated!]
...I am glad you have prepared yourself. I trust you, but I do not want to risk the worst.
[Evangeline did good work, so she was sure these would work, especially after all the tests they'd done.
Rider took a deep breath, reaching one hand to the back of her head.]
