[The news of how the secret desert mission went has already been spread through the guilds, so when Rinku finishes training with Evangeline for the day, Evangeline might expect her to ask something like "do you know anything about those tasks we had to do?" or "why did the ancients build so many mazes with traps and stuff?" Instead, after waffling a bit and fiddling awkwardly with the training sword she was using, Rinku blurts out:]

[Huh. Evangeline blinks a couple times before answering.]

Sexy kidnapping is when someone abducts you and takes you to an isolated location and then has sex with you, usually more than once over a period of time.

[roundandaround]

[Rinku makes an embarrassed noise, blinks a few times, and slowly tilts her head. Her face is turning red, but she continues.]

Is that fun, though? I dunno why you'd wanna be kidnapped.

Some people like it! For some people, the idea that someone wants them so much that they'd do something wild like kidnap them makes them feel very sexy and desirable? It's especially good for people who have low self-esteem and struggle to believe that other people want them.

There's also the kind of person who is really bad at taking any time off for themselves. Like they couldn't possibly take a week off and do nothing but have sex, they have work to do - oh, but if they're kidnapped, then they don't have a choice about it, and so they can enjoy it without feeling guilty.

Those are the two big reasons, I think.

[roundandaround]

[Rinku rubs her chin and hums.] I don't think I give people that impression? I guess either of them.

Did someone say they wanted to sexy kidnap you?

Yeah, I don't get it. I mean, riding on the Lover Camels was fun and we started talking about how nice Ellipsa is for a place that kidnaps you, and then she was all "maybe I should kidnap you some time," and I didn't get it. She said it was "that mysterious, secretive side" of this kinda thing?

[abnormalizes]

Oh. Well, there's also the people who are turned on by danger, but you don't really seem like that type to me either.

[Hmmm.]

Yeah, I don't think so. I mean, I never really thought about it before, but danger just feels dangerous, not fun.

[...now she has to actually think of what she is turned on by, but that is not a question for Eva. This barely is, except for her subject matter expertise.]

Makes sense! I think in that case, the thing to do is to politely say that you wouldn't enjoy that very much. At least if the person seems nice and not just a creep.

[roundandaround]

Huh. [Rinku hums and thinks about it.] I dunno if I would, but now that you say it that way, yeah, probably not. Hana-chan looked like she felt really bad or embarrassed when I asked why, though. Why would I ask if I didn't want to know?

Well, she was probably worried you were going to think she was a creep or a pervert, probably? That's usually why people get embarrassed when you ask.

[roundandaround]

I guess so. [sigh] I hope I don't make people think I think that way about them. No one deserves to feel bad for being the person they are.

[abnormalizes]

I think anyone who hasn't just met you will know that you don't think anything mean about them. You're too nice.

[roundandaround]

You think so?

[Rinku lights up. She hangs up the sword and looks up at Evangeline.]

I hope not, but sometimes I worry. Like what I told you about Eve-san that one time.

That you hurt her accidentally by being too positive at her?

[roundandaround]

Yeah. She doesn't like me calling her Eve-chan, and trying to be happy about stuff I was worried about offended her. So I worry about that kinda thing.

[abnormalizes]

Mm. But you stopped calling her Eve-chan when she told you not to, right?

[roundandaround]

Yeah. I felt bad about it, and it still kinda feels bad. But it'd be worse to keep hurting her. I guess that's how it is.

[abnormalizes]

I also hurt people on accident like that. Like I talked about the cannibals at home kind of off-handedly and Jean told me to stop because he has really bad trauma related to that. So I've been better about not bringing it up with the people from that world since.

Hurting people on accident happens. As long as you're willing to say "sorry, I won't do that again" and then change the thing that hurt them, that's the important thing.

[roundandaround]

[Rinku hugs Evangeline. Even if they're both dirty from training, she doesn't seem to mind.]
