[ She understands the feeling. Life takes things away so easily, so frequently, but rarely do things return. She'd be just as skeptical in her shoes. ]
I am. [ And there's a bit of relief in her voice that only Evangeline would get. ] Can't say I appreciate them making me leave in the first place.
To be fair to Lucifer, we were never meant to be in the same room, were were in the courtyard and I heard the clone though an open window just before I transformed and things went south from there.
So I doubt he would risk having us anywhere near each other after that.
I don't like knowing that you missed me. [ She's not used to being missed. (Or, more accurately, knowing she was missed.) ] There was no reason to believe I'd return.
[ And how long would she have continued to miss her? Would she have ever stopped? It's horrible to think about. ]
[Evangeline comes closer and goes in for the smooch. She is aware there are still researchers around, and she frankly doesn't care - even if she regularly had shame, which she does not, none of her coworkers are as important as Jyoti right now.]
Thanks Evangeline. I'm gonna think abuot it more, see what else I can do to, you know, not have that happen again.
In the meantime, would it be petty of me to frame these? [He holds up the shutter shades again, the qiestion being 40% legitimate and 60% trying to lighten the mood.]
